joy point

The joy point  is a concept for a tactile control device.  It is a navigator that would improve upon the directional maneuverability of a Sony Ericsson joystick by integrating the soft responsiveness of an IBM trackpoint, all housed in a silicone enclave to minimize dust collection.  It is featured in these images on a simple flip phone design, but it could be incorporated into any electronic device needing navigation.  Though there are many options for flat-screen touch interfaces these days, the joy point would cater to those still preferring a tactile connection
